Is
this clinic for me?
Our mission is to provide softball coaches at nearly every level of skill,
ability and knowledge clinics where they can learn and grow as coaches.
In designing each clinic, we assume that you, as a coach, can teach your
players to throw, catch and hold a bat. We'll provide instruction from
the top softball coaches, players and clinicians in the country to help
you go from there. Some topics will be more advanced than others, but
there will be something for everyone!
What
type of atmosphere is there at the clinic?
The atmosphere at all of our clinics is very relaxed and fun. The clinic
is done in a "classroom" style format held in the hotel ballroom.
Our clinics are non-participating in the sense that our clinicians will
do all the instruction and most of the demonstration; the participants
will not be actually doing skills. There will be ample time during breaks
for participants to talk to the clinicians if they have additional questions.
It's a great opportunity not only to learn more about coaching softball,
but to meet other coaches as well!
Can
playes attend?
At our "regular" National Softball Coaches Clinics in January
& February, we encourage players who are age 14 and older to attend
if they wish. Their registration fee is $55. At the Advanced National
Softball Coaches Clinic in December, only full-time college students are
allowed at a student rate of $89.
Will I receive a confirmation of
my registration?
If you register online, you will receive a confirmation
sent to the email address you provide. If you register by mail, you must
enclose a SASE in which a confirmation will be sent to you.
Can my spouse attend with me?
Everyone who attends the clinic session(s) must register for the clinic.
What
if I cannot be there in time for the scheduled registration/check-in time?
If you are pre-registered, we will hold your packet
for you until noon on Saturday at which time we will release it. When
you arrive at the clinic, you will look for the National Sports Clinics
tables where you can pick up your packet or register if you're a walk-in.
Can
I substitute a coach for someone who signed up but can no longer attend?
Yes. Please contact us with
the substitution information and we'll make the change!
What
is the refund policy?
If you're unable to attend, please request a refund
(less $10 for handling) by submitting a WRITTEN REQUEST postmarked 10
days prior to the clinic date. After that time, no refunds will be issued.
Will
the clinic be held if there is snow?
In all likelihood, yes, the clinic will be held.
The clinic would only be canceled if our speakers are uable to get there.
If there is any question about the clinic being held due to weather, always
contact the hotel where the clinic is held. Please do not call our office
or rely on the website for this type of information.
I
called the hotel to get a room and they said the block is filled or they
charged me a higher rate.
If
either of those things happen, please contact us. Sometimes there is a
lackof communication at the hotel which is usually easily resolved. There
is a cutoff date for filling our block of reserved rooms and after that
date, the hotel will sometimes charge their normal rates. We encourage
coaches to reserve their rooms early to avoid any inconvenience and to
ensure they receive the clinic rate.
Do
you offer discounts for a group?
We believe that we have made
our clinics very high quality at a very affordable price, so we do not
offer discount pricing.
Can I videotape the presentations at the clinic?
We do not allow videotaping of any of the presentations
at the clinics.
Can I audiotape the presentations at the clinic?
Yes, you may audiotape the presentations.
Will there be videos of the clinic available?
We do not videotape the clinics.
Many of our speakers have their own videos which they sell and we have
made the decision not to duplicate that.
Can I use a Purchase Order from my school to pay my registration
fee?
Yes you can! We will need
a copy of the actual Purchase Order along with your registration application
sent to us via fax or mail.
Will there be an exhibit area featuring softball-related
products?
Yes, there will be a number
of companies featuring softball-related products/services in the exhibit
area. The number and type of exhibits varies from year to year and city
to city. You will also receive catalogs, flyers and advertisements from
a number of companies in your coaches packet.
Can I purchase JUGS pitching machines and other equipment
at the clinic?
The best way to save on JUGS equipment is to pre-order
at least two weeks prior to the clinic. You will receive the NSC price,
plus you will not pay shipping on most items. Full payment is required
when your order is placed. Please feel free to contact us for more information!
What do I need to bring with me for the clinic?
Wear comfortable clothes and bring something to
write with. You will receive a coaches packet that will include a notebook
with pad and the speakers' outlines among other things.
Am I on my own for meals/snacks?
Yes, you are on your own for all meals/snacks
except for at the Advanced National Softball Coaches Clinic where you
will receive a boxed lunch on Saturday.
Will you limit the number of walk-ins at-the-door?
We
do everything in our power to make sure everyone who wants to attend the
clinics may do so. We normally don't have to turn anyone away, but because
we cannot predict the number of coaches who will walk in at-the-door,
we can't guarantee space availability. If you have concerns about availability,
please contact us prior to the Pre-Registration Deadline.
